Mom-ing the Week Away

    We adults survived the birthday! Per the kid and parent feedback, the party was a blast of a time for the kids, so it was a win on all fronts. (Except the cake... the cake was a total hit, but it really didn't survive at all :D)

    I'd like to say I jumped right back into writing, but a 24-hour flu ran through our house and knocked me and our oldest on our butts for a couple days. We're already feeling better, and she only missed one day of school, but then my Thursday got eaten up by a field trip with my youngest's class at playschool. I don't feel bad for missing out on writing time at all because, honestly, who doesn't love the Telus World of Science?? It was a bit worrying for "mom" me as there were 31 of three- and four-year-olds that we released into the science-y goodness. I knew the faces of about half the kids there (and names for the ones who came to the birthday party), but they all wore snazzy high-viz vests with class and teacher info on them so my worry was unfounded. Besides, the kids could've powered the building during an IMAX screening with the excitement-bundled energy they brought on the bus, so it would've been a conscious effort on my part to not have fun. You can image the ball they had once they got there.
    Stage whisper: I had an awesome time, and the kids were surprisingly well behaved and SO MUCH FUN!

    Needless to say, my writing fell way off my established schedule this week and spilled all over my sleeping hours so today I'm pooped. Good thing it's the weekend. And that I have the rest of today during daylight hours for playing with words. Hope you have a good weekend!
