The Birthday Blues

*Huge sigh of relief* : It's Friday and the week is nearly over!
    *Gut-clenching anxiety* : It's almost Saturday!
*Cue up the eerie music and start the oddly angled camera panning*
So, my 3 year old is becoming a 4 year old in this next week. We decided to have a birthday party for her because it seemed like the thing to do, you know, for a birthday. We invited her playschool class and some other friends with the expectation of maximum ten actual kids that would confirm and show up. Turns out, our assumption was a terrible mistake (on our parent part only - the party is going to be awesome) and we now have fifteen or more kids coming. Thankfully, we also have some parents that want to stay for a couple hours of visiting with and talking to other adults, and my trained-child-educator sister volunteered to assist, so the house might - maybe - survive the party.
We've got cakes, crafts, snacks, and can plug in a movie if needed for a half hour before opening presents and having cake. So I think we'll be okay? It's only two hours, so we should be okay. Yeah... yeah, we'll be okay... I hope. Probably the color-it-yourself play house will be the big attention getter. I also enlisted the big kids (ie: older siblings of attending littles) to be helpers,
and they're getting excited about being bossier than usual. (That may or may not backfire on me, but probably all slights will be forgiven when the cake and cupcakes roll out). Oh well. It's too late to back out now, the big kid roles are already getting assigned and I promised them that they would get to use their superior crafting abilities to play with glue for helping the littles.

Also on Saturday, the condo that we had renovated is going to be going up for sale. I apologize in advance for the bubbly updates and reminders for however long it will be on the market. I'm more excited than I have any right to be about selling the property. It's just an event that's wrapped up in a bunch of good stuff! My tenants are getting a house, my finances won't be an abysmal hole of echoing blackness, and the constant nag on my anxiety of a second property will be gone. All happy stuff!

Don't forget that this event is happening! I even picked up a couple table decorations AND now I can let you know that I will have a couple of books out at sale prices. You only have to come to the show to get the books at the sale prices! :D
